I Have just bought a sony bravia lcd tv and i am not happy?

the picture quality seems so bad, the colours seem to mix into each other, especially on movement. All the pixels seem to mingle together, my parents could not watch over christmas, because their eyes went funny, and were confined to the portable in the kitchen. Some adverts came across perfect but bad compensation for upgrading your tv for what was meant to be better christmas viewing. To make matters worse our son splashed out on a sony home theatre kit to go with it, shame as i have always bought sony products and this is the first let down i have had.
I know people will say HD and all that , but surely you should get some sort of superior viewing from what your old tv gave you?Any comments gratefully accepted!

I have had a Sony Bravia 40 inch for about a year now, I have been really happy with it and have had no faults at all, you either have something set or connected wrongly or the set is faulty, what are you watching with it, Sky, or freeview, with Sky you should have no problems but FreeView may require a digital aerial set up in correct alignment, if it is none of these things contact the people that you bought it from and explain what is happening, they are bound by law to only sell a product that is fit for the purpose that it was meant for, it is nothing to do with HD, I have not used mine to watch in HD although it is a 1080P set.
